Have you ever been walking in the early morning and seen a spiderweb dusted with dew? On the KS prairie, where I grew up, on misty mornings, the moisture in the air sometimes reveals thousands of delicate pieces of spider lace woven among the tall grasses, that were invisible the evening before. This desktop was like that for me as I worked on it, a little surprise that revealed itself to me accidentally while playing with colors. The flower paintings are mostly from the British Museum’s collection of hand-painted taxonomy specimens. Aren’t they lovely? Happy August friends, I hope the world unfolds around you in surprising and mystery-filled ways.
