February outside my window is a tapestry of browns. This time of year, I feel the urge to gather the threads and create something with my hands. For generations, we have woven, embroidered, stitched, and mended—crafting both out of necessity and for the simple pleasure of making.

Now, in an age when it's easier and cheaper to buy linens online or at a big-box store, handcrafting can feel almost indulgent, even unnecessary. And yet, whenever I carve out time for slow, intentional work—knitting, baking bread, journaling—I feel something deep within me resonate. There is a connection to history, to the material, to the act of making itself that is lost in our disposable world.

This month’s illustrated desktop wallpaper is my version of that handmade tapestry—woven not with fiber but with color and texture. It begins as an antique tapestry, unraveling and transforming into earth and stone, then shifting into painted greenery, and finally into a white tree. A blend of history and nature, thread and landscape—a reflection of February’s quiet beauty.
