I have been building frames for my upcoming “Midwestern Trees” painting series out in my studio all morning (Official release date is Oct. 15th!) The air has that crisp undertone and the smell of saw dust and Danish Oil remind me of afternoons spent out in the family barn working with my dad on woodworking projects.

October is my favorite month, and I think it is because it awakens the senses. Your skin feels the change in the air, you smell the leaves and the first smoke of wood stoves, you look forward to tasting autumn spices, and the trees delight your vision with their spectacle of color. Nestle in friends, and enjoy this glorious month.
